Games I've Worked On:

Catan Console Edition

I worked alongside a full team to bring the huge Cities & Knights expansion to the game, as well as implementing the seasonal expansion packs to allow players to further customise their dice and hexes within the game, as long as they own it. This was an interesting challenge and a useful learning experience to learn Console development with an Xbox Devkit and how to develop DLCs within a game, which I had never done before working on this project.

Additionally, I worked on the Cities and Knights expansion pack, where I did bug fixes, implemented some of the knights' code and updated the AI to be able to utilise the Knights based on an AI design document I was provided.

Fury of Dracula

I worked with one other colleague to bring the Immortal Update to Fury of Dracula, which came to be due to the community providing a large list of changes and bugs they had found that they wanted fixing. I helped work on numerous features, changes, and bug fixes that were requested, such as overhauling the rarely used Dracula markers to enable them to be more intuitive to hunters and adding a house rule to stop Dracula from being able to see them, too. Various UI changes to make certain actions within the game more concise and clear. And numerous bug fixes to various mechanics and UI within the game.

Board Game Cafe

What I was initially hired for at Nomad Games Ltd was working with a small team of 3 using Unreal Engine, where we managed ourselves and developed workflows, as Nomad Games had no pre-existing workflows or systems in place for using the Unreal Engine before, and my fellow teammates joined the company, providing the skills to utilise it to create their first IP.

I worked on many of the core gameplay features and systems in the earlier builds of the game before I was moved to work on Catan. With the main ones being the challenge system, which allowed the easy creation of various challenges which the player can try to complete for a monetary reward and one of the key parts to a tycoon game like this being the customer AI. I implemented a large portion of it in the earlier phases of the game's development, which allowed customers to spawn and enter the cafe and interact with various objects the player could place down, such as board game tables and vending machines. I also added happiness to each customer and made a basic display for what the customers are feeling, so as to provide visual feedback to the player on whether the customer is enjoying their time at the cafe.

My Games:

Retro Runner

Retro Runner is an infinite running game available on Android where the player has to survive an infinitely randomly generated level and can get power-ups to gain a bike to go faster and gain an extra life. As well as having gems that the player can collect to buy various upgrades in the shop, there is also Ad integration for bonus rewards or an extra life after dying and occasionally ads after completing a run before returning to the main menu.

Crimson Catacombs

Crimson Catacombs is a game created with a friend, where I took on the role of implementing various shader effects and setting up the visuals of the game. Along with implementing some of the features to the monster AI and setting up all the interactables within the game, while also creating the level itself.

More information can be found in a post I made here: https://dawnthe.twilightparadox.com/posts/crimson-catacombs/

A Cats Climb Home

A Cat's Climb Home is the first game I released on Itch.io, which has similar gameplay to Jump King, which it was inspired by at the time, with the added abilities and cat-swapping mechanic that needed to be used to ascend up the level.
